Professor Raminder Kaur (B.Ed., M.A., M. Phil., PhD) recently retired as faculty from the School of Punjabi Studies, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar. Her academic career includes thirty-five years teaching, conducting research and writing. She has also served in a variety of academic roles, including Head of the School of Punjabi Studies (2016 – 2021), Member of the Senate of the GNDU (2018-2019), Member of the General Council Sahitya Academy, New Delhi (2012-2017) and Member of the Thakur Singh Art Gallery, Amritsar (2014 to present).
Starting in 2000 with ‘Shehri Sabyachaaar Ate Punjabi Novel’ Raminder Kaur has written twenty-two books of literary criticism on Punjabi novels and short stories. Seventy of her papers have been published in a range of research and literary journals and books. She is well-known for her editorial work, having served as editor of Parvachan (a University Grants Commission Care listed research journal), Khoj Darpan and Lok Vani.
In 2019 she received the Satwinder Kaur Uppal Yadgari Sanman for literary criticism.
