Honourable Jinny Sims, B.C. Minister of Citizens’ Services, presented Barj S. Dhahan with with Provincial Proclamation for the 2017 Punjabi Literature Week at the Dhahan Prize Award Ceremony. The City of Vancouver Proclamation was presented earlier at Vancouver’s City Hall.
Dhahan Prize was very excited to have received Proclamations for the 2017 Punjabi Literature Week from both the City of Vancouver and the Province of British Columbia. Both levels of government did not hesitate to, through these Proclamations, recognize the historical contributions people of Punjabi descent have made in the development of society in Vancouver and, in general, British Columbia. Dhahan Prize was also acknowledged for the continued work to promote the preservation and sharing of Punjabi culture to the wider community.
